When I make a donation to Malaria Free World, is that contribution tax-deductible?

Yes.  Malaria Free World is a 501(c)(3) organization.  All contributions are fully tax-deductible in the U.S. under IRC Section 170.  Every penny of your donation to Malaria Free World counts as a tax-deductible donation.

I want my giving to be deductible for this tax year. Do I need to make a donation by a certain time?

Yes.  Any donation you made on or by December 31, 2015 will qualify as a deduction for the 2015 tax year.  So, if you're looking for a tax benefit for this year, please donate before December 31, 2015.  You can donate online any day of the week, 24 hours a day.

When I donate, will I get a receipt?

When you donate online at Malaria Free World, you will receive a confirmation e-mail, which will serve as your receipt.  You can also contact us, if you need a specific letter to acknowledge your generous contribution.  Malaria Free World's EIN is 47-2012453.

I am donating to show support for one of your Malaria Masters. How will my donation be counted towards their efforts?

When you donate online at Malaria Free World, you can provide the name of the Malaria Master you are supporting.

Do I need to itemize my tax return to get a deduction for charitable giving?

Yes, you do.  Donations are only tax-deductible if you itemize deductions on your tax return.  When you file your taxes, you'll need to itemize your donations on the Schedule A of the 1040 form.

How is my donation being used?

Malaria Free World is an active advocate for malaria research.  Using your donations, Malaria Free World will raise malaria awareness for the malaria epidemic by:

.. Organizing STEM-related activities (like visiting area schools, and educating students about malaria to foster scientific innovation).
